Most skinny guys can develop abs easily because their body fat percentage is already so low.  However, it’s important to train your abs the right way.

Common Ab Mistakes

  • Traditional sit-ups: These do more damage to the back than work the ab muscles.
  • Over-Training: 100′s of crunches just overtrain your abs.
  • Hump back: Guys that overtrain often have bad, humped over posture, keep an eye on your posture.
  • Straining: Doing ab exercises with heavy weights can strain the neck and back.

Ab Pointers

  • Engage: Do ab exercise that engage upper, mid, and lower abdominals.
  • Contract: Exercises that contract the ab muscles for a longer duration are the best.
  • Diet: Diets high in fat and sugar will hide your abs as guys tend to store fat around the stomach first.
  • Frequency: Just train your abs a few days a week as they are just like any other muscle and need time to repair and grow between workouts.
